We’re delighted to share this year’s Annual Report, celebrating the life-saving work and lasting change your generosity makes possible.
We are living through a pivotal moment. Around the world, communities are facing escalating conflict, climate disasters, attacks on human rights, rising authoritarianism, and growing inequality. Yet amid these challenges, we continue to witness something extraordinary: grassroots leaders organizing, advocating, and caring for their communities with courage, vision, and determination.
At MADRE, we know that lasting social change is not built through top-down solutions. It is built by women, girls, Indigenous peoples, LGBTQIA+ communities, Afro-descendant peoples, disability rights leaders, and others whose leadership isrooted in lived experience and deep knowledge of their communities.
For more than 40 years, MADRE has partnered with grassroots leaders around theworld, providing resources, solidarity, and connections that help transform localaction into global impact.
This year, your support helped women human rights defenders advance peace, protect communities from violence, respond to humanitarian crises, defend land and livelihoods, and advocate for policies that uphold human rights and dignity. Through trusted partnerships, resources reached communities quickly while strengthening long-term movements for justice.
Together, these efforts demonstrate that global social justice is not an abstract ideal. It is the cumulative impact of communities claiming their rights, exercising their leadership, and creating a more equitable future.
We are deeply grateful to MADRE partners whose wisdom, expertise, and perseverance drive this work every day. And we are equally grateful to you. Your support makes it possible for MADRE to respond to urgent needs while investing in lasting transformation.
With gratitude,
