MADRE and our partners in Colombia won a groundbreaking victory in 2022, fully legalizing abortions in the country. We provided legal support during the case, helping to convince the Colombian Supreme Court to allow anyone who wanted an abortion to get one. Previously, Colombian law only permitted abortions in specific situations, such as for rape survivors.
