Prosecuting ISIS Crimes against Women and LGBTIQ Persons
On November 8, MADRE held a special event featuring ICC Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda where we launched our petition to prosecute ISIS crimes against women and LGBTIQ persons. Our petition, the first of its kind, makes a case for international law to protect all people, including LGBTIQ people and women, from violence aimed at enforcing rigid gender roles.
