MADRE seeks a Social Media Consultant to support with the dissemination on social media platforms and networks of several MADRE products amongst the human rights community working on Afghanistan, in particular Afghan Human Rights Defenders and Leaders and Civil Society Organizations.
I. Project Overview and Objectives:
MADRE supports the work of Afghan women leaders to sustain their communities and build peace. MADRE also advocates within the international arena and in the United States for policies that uphold Afghan women’s and girls’ human rights. In this context, MADRE is producing several products on documentation of rights violations and relocation guidelines for dissemination amongst the Afghan Human Rights Defenders community .
II. Who is MADRE?
MADRE is a non-profit international feminist human rights and humanitarian organization based in New York that supports grassroots women’s organizations around the world in contexts of war, disaster and their aftermath. MADRE helps women meet urgent needs, build safer and healthier communities, and advocate for lasting change.
III. Job Requirements
The social media consultant, in coordination with MADRE’s Digital Content Strategist and MADRE’s Advocacy team, will :
Build and execute a social media strategy to disseminate MADRE’s products on social media platforms and websites;
Generate and support in publishing social media content on MADRE’s products for social media platforms and websites;
Collaborate with civil society organizations, including Afghan women’s rights organizations, to ensure widespread dissemination of and engagement with MADRE products;
Monitor social media channels and/or use analytics software to track performance of social media campaigns to assess average number of individuals who have accessed the materials through tracking of social media networks
IV. Social Media Consultant Qualifications
Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto and English.
Demonstrated experience and expertise in social media management, with experience working with NGOs and human rights.
Experience working on Afghanistan and knowledge of Afghan rights organizations will be considered an asset.
Demonstrated experience in implementing digital security protocols.
