Interviews Available: Women's Rights Leaders from Haiti, Kenya and Sudan
Friday, February 24, 2012–New York, NY–Today, MADRE partners from Haiti, Kenya and Sudan begin to arrive in New York City. They will attend a major conference on women's rights at the United Nations, the 56th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW).
Leaders from MADRE's partner organizations KOFAVIV (Haiti), Womankind Kenya and Zenab for Women in Development (Sudan) will be available for interview.

KOFAVIV (Commission of Women Victims for Victims) works to combat sexual violence against women and girls in Haiti by providing access to medical, legal and psychosocial support.
Hubbie Hussein Al-Haji, Executive Director of Womankind Kenya. Womankind Kenya is a grassroots women's organization working to improve access to education, provide water and sanitation, and help sustain communities facing famine in northeastern Kenya.
Fatima Ahmed, Founder and President of Zenab for Women in Development. Zenab for Women in Development supports women farmers with tools, seeds and training, and co-founded with MADRE Sudan's first women farmers union. Fatima is an expert in agriculture, women's rights, women's reproductive health and girl's education.
