We’re Here: Iraqi LGBT People’s Accounts of Violence and Rights Abuses (October 2014)

The report compiled by MADRE, the Organization of Women's Freedom (OWFI), and  International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (OutRight) contains first-hand accounts of anti-LGBT violence and discrimination from five Iraqis. The report reveals violence from the government, family members, acquaintances and community members. The authors of this report aimed to bring greater awareness to life as an LGBT individual in Iraq. Additionally, the authors highlight the LGBT community’s call for rights-based protections.
