Violations of Afro-Colombian Women's Human Rights

In preparation for the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination's (CERD) consideration of Colombia's state report, we prepared a report with our partners for consideration in the List of Themes.

The Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) is a body of experts that monitors the implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. The convention is a tool to protect people through the eradication racial discrimination and to hold states accountable.

CERD holds three sessions a year and in this time, non-governmental organizations submit reports on their assessment of how their governments upholding their responsibility to address racial discrimination. The List of Themes is a way to make the procedure of presenting reports more targeted.
