Seeking Accountability And Demanding Change: A Report On Women’s Human Rights Violations In Iraq Under The UN Convention Against Torture (July 2015)

The report aims to provide supplementary information for the UN Committee Against Torture (CAT) for its review of the initial report of Iraq at the 55th session in July 2015. The report documents violations committed against victims of trafficking, and gender-based violence, including attempted honor killings and domestic violence in Iraq, under numerous articles of the Convention. Furthermore, the report put forth a series of specific recommendations to the Iraqi government on measures for enhancing compliance with its obligations under the Convention, and providing redress to the victims of the abuses.
