DRC Legal Advocate
Michelle Dörlemann holds two law degrees and has more than ten years of professional experience in the strategic conceptualization and practical implementation of projects, partnerships and studies in the Great Lakes Region and beyond. Based in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) since 2015, she works with an intersectional approach on questions of fighting violence against women, promoting women’s and girls’ empowerment and rights, civil society strengthening, and access to health and other services for vulnerable groups.
Michelle supports MADRE and our Congolese partner organization SOFEPADI in the implementation of our joint project ‘Women-Led Initiative in the DRC: Normalizing Women’s Rights and Inclusion in Peacebuilding Processes’. Other organizations that Michelle has consulted for include Frontline AIDS, medica mondiale, Kvinna till Kvinna, Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice, the World Bank Inspection Panel, as well as the German Corporation for International Cooperation.
