Ibdaa Celebrates its 10th Anniversary!

1995 - 2005

Dear Friends at Ibdaa,

It's hard to believe that the children who took part in your first programs are now young adults. Many have graduated from high school. Some have entered university or started families of their own. And several have taken leadership roles at Ibdaa, passing on to today's children the skills and ideals that they absorbed at Ibdaa. Whatever their path, this first generation of Ibdaa youth, some of whom we have gotten to know over the years, are coming into adulthood with a strong sense of themselves and what they have to contribute in the world. This is truly an accomplishment to celebrate, given these 10 years of failed peace talks, ongoing occupation and increasing warfare. Through these hardships, Ibdaa has brought joy and creativity into children's lives and taught that national struggle does not only mean combating Israeli occupation, but creating a Palestine infused with principles of human rights. MADRE is proud to be your partner in this courageous and challenging work.
