Information Collected

MADRE collects personal information from visitors only when they supply it voluntarily, such as when making a donation online or subscribing to our electronic mailings. In order to process such transactions, MADRE collects information that may include: name, address, phone, e-mail address, credit card information, and donation amount.

As with most other Internet sites, our Web server automatically recognizes the domain name of each visitor to the site, but not the e-mail address. This IP address tells us which domain you visited from (e.g. aol.com). We use the information we record to help diagnose problems with our server, and to improve the content of our Web page. The information is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.

Security

MADRE's online processing service uses industry-leading Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology that protects your information using both server authentication and data encryption. This ensures the security of any personal or credit card information submitted online, such as when making a donation or subscribing to our electronic mailings. You can be sure this is working when you see “https” in the address bar and a small padlock icon in the lower right hand corner of your browser.

Opt Out

If you supply us with your postal address or e-mail address online, you may receive periodic mailings from us with information about our programs and services. If you do not want to receive postal mail and/or e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by sending your request via e-mail to privacy@madre.org.

MADRE will never rent, trade or sell your e-mail address. However, we may occasionally share postal addresses with other like-minded organizations for the mutual benefit of both. If you would prefer not to have your postal address shared, simply send us a request via post or e-mail to:

Correcting or Updating Personal Information
