Event: Born Into War
Please join us on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at The Salt Space for an exhibit of photos and drawings by former child soldiers in Colombia and Uganda. Proceeds of the exhibition will benefit MADRE's work to provide former child soldiers with the support they need to create alternatives to a life of violence.

Earlier this month, representatives from MADRE and our partner organizations traveled to Geneva to participate in the 14th session of the UN Human Rights Council to press governments to act for women's human rights in Haiti and Nicaragua. Taking a Stand Against Racism in Peru
MADRE's partner organization in Peru, LUNDU, has been working to mobilize against the reproduction of racist and sexist stereotypes on television. Recently, over 200 human rights activists gathered in Lima to protest the continued presence of the characters on the television program.
