Keywords: Meet Yifat

As soon as we let our sister organizations know about our new Executive Director, Yifat Susskind, the welcome messages poured in. Our partners, excited to hear that Yifat would be taking the leadership of MADRE, wrote to us to share their congratulations and to express their confidence—and we would like to share a few of those messages with you.

Lucy Malenkei(From Lucy Mulenkei, the director of MADRE’s sister organization in Kenya, the Indigenous Information Network)

The support we have gotten and continue to get from MADRE has made our work powerful, and the communities feel that power and motivation to go on, despite our many challenges.

We welcome Yifat to continue the work and assure her that, as ever, we look forward to working with MADRE.

Best wishes
Lucy

Rose Cunningham(From Rose Cunningham, the director of MADRE’s sister organization in Nicaragua, Wangki Tangni)

I’ve been part of MADRE for all of its 27 years, and I’ve known Yifat since she came from Jerusalem to join the staff in 1997.  And what a force she is.  I can’t think of a better person to carry on Vivian’s powerful legacy and nurture all that we have built together over the years.

With love,
Rose

Yanar Mohammed(From Yanar Mohammed, the director of MADRE’s sister organization in Iraq, the Organization of Women’s Freedom in Iraq-OWFI)

Yifat has always been there for us – to listen to us, to strategize with us, to support us through difficult times.  I can’t tell you how important it has been for us to know that we can always pick up a phone and hear her voice on the other end.  Congratulations, Yifat, and we look forward to years of collaboration to come.

In solidarity,
Yanar
