Local Women's Organizations in Kenya and Sudan Connect Through MADRE (Video)

When MADRE Executive Director Yifat Susskind was in Kenya recently, she brought with her a gift from Zenab for Women in Development, a Sudanese sister organization of women farmers. These women had heard of the terrible famine and drought women and their families in the Horn of Africa were facing, and wanted to help. They donated the profits they made from their harvest to Womankind Kenya, an organization of Somali women pastoralists dedicated to helping survivors of the famine. Watch the video below to see Hubbie Hussein Al-Haji, Executive Director of Womankind Kenya, receive this generous gift.
