Why Give?

"I can't imagine not working with MADRE, which has given me the community that fights loneliness, which has offered me a home in which to share my concerns with other women.  I can't imagine not fighting that loneliness together, and I can't imagine not risking that loneliness."

–    Susan Sarandon (MADRE member since 1988)

When you give to MADRE, you know you're making a concrete difference in the life of a woman who is struggling to build a better future for herself and her family.

Whether you're helping to build a clinic, feed a child, or deliver emergency aid after a disaster, you can feel confident that your gift will be used in a smart, efficient way. A full 91 cents of every dollar you give goes directly to our programs with women around the world.

So give a tax-deductible contribution to MADRE and feel proud of your decision to make a difference.

Financial Information

MADRE is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that receives support from individual donors, foundations, community organizations, and religious communities. Since our founding in 1983, MADRE has delivered over 25 million dollars’ worth of support to community-based women's groups in Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa, the Balkans, Asia, and the United States.

MADRE works hard to keep our administrative costs low. We use the highest possible percentage of our donations to support our programs with women and families who are struggling to meet their immediate needs and win justice for their communities. We rely on volunteers and donations from around the country and are always looking for ways to maximize our impact and minimize our costs.

MADRE is committed to transparency and is happy to make our financial information available to our supporters.
